Orderain Clip — Privacy Policy

Orderain Clip (“the extension”) is an independent browser extension developed and maintained by Ajjlal Ahmed (“the developer”, “we”). It is a tool for merchants who use the Orderain platform: it lets you clip a product from a web page and publish it to your own Orderain store.

Orderain Clip is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Orderain. “Orderain” is used only to describe what the extension is compatible with. This policy covers the extension only. Any data you send to your Orderain store is handled under Orderain’s own privacy policy at orderain.com/privacy.

What the extension handles

• Your Orderain API token. You paste a headless API token in the extension’s Options. It is stored only on your own device (Chrome storage.local) and is sent only to the Orderain API (*.orderain.com) as the Authorization header to authenticate your own requests. The developer never receives it, and it is never sent anywhere else.
• Extension settings. Your selected environment and default store id are stored on your device (storage.local).
• Product data you choose to import. When you click “Add to Orderain” (or use the right-click menu) on a page, the extension reads that page’s content — title, price, images, description, and product options — to pre-fill the import panel. On supported stores (for example AliExpress, Amazon, Temu, Walmart, and Shopify stores) this includes reading the product data the page itself loads from its own APIs, so variants and prices import correctly. This scraped data is held temporarily on your device (storage.session) and is sent to your Orderain store only when you press Publish (or Rewrite with AI).
• Product images. On publish, the images you keep are downloaded from their original location on the source website and re-hosted on your Orderain store via the Orderain API.

What the extension does NOT do

• The developer does not collect, receive, store, or have access to any of your data. Nothing is sent to the developer or to any developer-run server.
• It does not collect analytics or telemetry.
• It does not sell or share your data with any third party.
• Apart from your own Orderain API (api.orderain.com, and in development builds only dev-api.orderain.com) and downloading the product images you chose from their original location, it makes no other network requests.
• It does not read or transmit page content in the background — it only reads a page’s product details, and only sends them when you explicitly act.

Why the extension needs broad site access

To let you import a product from any store you visit, the extension needs permission to read the current page’s content on the sites you use it on. It acts only on the page you are viewing and only when you invoke it.

Data storage & retention

All data (token, settings, in-progress product) lives on your own device in Chrome storage. Removing the extension deletes it. The developer holds no copy because the developer never receives it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above will change. Continued use of the extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.
